Mixed media artist Sharon Mee has been working with students at Davison High School for Girls using air drying clays and other media to create monster key rings, decorative bowls and masks. The project focussed on developing skills with new materials, individual design, self expression and gaining confidence. Due to social distancing restrictions, we worked with the girls in class, with Sharon leading sessions online.
I designed my mask by thinking about my personality and shapes I like. My mask looks like the the queen of hearts. I enjoyed making it because it was calming and gave me something to look forward to. Overall I really liked the experience and loved the zoom calls as I have never done anything like it before .

I really enjoyed my time with Sharon. We got to do any design we wanted and we could plan what we wanted to do. I really enjoyed how we made flags to say that we were struggling.
