Future Creators
Future Creators is a dynamic collective of organisations spanning creative industries, local businesses, youth groups, schools, arts and heritage, health, and social services.
Together, we strive to unlock the creative potential, skills, and voices of children and young adults across the region. Our approach is driven by responsiveness to need, understanding local, regional, and national contexts. We collaborate to co-create initiatives that address these needs and drive positive change.
Founded in 2015 in Brighton & Hove as part of Arts Council England’s Cultural Education Challenge. Future Creators has expanded its partnerships throughout Greater Brighton, Worthing & Adur, Crawley, and East Sussex. Our vision is to showcase the long-term, positive, and measurable impact of fostering creativity in young people.
Children and young people are at the heart of everything we do. We work from their need's outward, connecting them with local opportunities best suited to their growth. By advocating for the importance of creativity, we provide evidence that underscores its value to the region and beyond.
Coastal Catalyst
One of Future Creators’ flagship programs for 2024-2026 is Coastal Catalyst, a collaborative initiative led by Future Creators (part of Brighton Dome, Festival and Music) and Talent Accelerator (part of De La Warr Pavilion) and funded by Arts Council England (ACE) through the Place Partnership project. Coastal Catalyst is further supported by University of Brighton, Careers East Sussex, and the Brighton & Hove Careers Hub.
Our Purpose
Our mission at Coastal Catalyst is to help young people convert their creativity into practical skills and career pathways in the creative sector, especially for those in communities with limited access to these fields.
Through digital badging, hands-on experience, and skill-building initiatives, we aim to bridge opportunity gaps and open doors for young people aged 14-25 in the Sussex Coastal Corridor. With funding in place through March 2026, this test-and-learn phase lays the groundwork for a long-term, sustainable collaboration.
